Give it a try man, if you can find it. Founder’s is a MI brewer, but they do distribute a fair bit around the country. Not sure if it will make it out to your part of the US, but it seems like it’s possible if you have a good beer store near by that stocks craft US beers.

Thanks for the additional insight on where the story was known and how much the movie undertold the amazingness of the story.
I’ve added Uprising. I know how that event turns out, but if you recommend it I’ll give it a go.

Great movie. I have some info on it though. It might not have been ever known in the US, but my wife was taught this when she was in school. They focused more on the resistance aspect to the Nazis (the fighting part), but the swamp trek was a big thing. She said that the movie failed to convey it well enough. They were in the swamp for a couple of weeks, dodging bombers. I recommend that you next see “Uprising” about the Warsaw Ghetto, same vein but not quite as fun an ending.

I liked this movie quite a lot. I had no idea it was based on a true story until we popped it in the DVD player – probably would have seen it in the theaters if we’d known.

It is pretty neat stuff. One thing a time though – cancer isn’t always age-related, so just because you taught the body to fight off tumors doesn’t mean you’ve got the all-clear to go after the effects of aging, which is a different cellular problem.
Then there is the sociological problems of having a population that won’t age or lives a whole lot longer, things we’re just starting to deal with now.

Eventually some technologies to become so common that they’re not really that special anymore, and I suspect stealth to radar is moving into that realm. So I do wonder what we’ll see next – stealth to radio and light waves would be really interesting but from what I understand light bending technology is very very far away.
